Prepare yourself for Vienna

Mobile app now available in app stores

The EGU2019 mobile app is now available for iPhones and Android smartphones (the link redirects you to the proper app version download for your particular device). The mobile app allows you to select your favourite programme groups and then enter an aggregated session programme including all events of your favourites. During the conference, the mobile app will always open the session list at the actual day and time block to give you the direct view of what is scheduled next. The app allows you to synchronize your personal programme compiled on the website with the one included in the app and the app allows OSPP judges to fill out their evaluation forms. The advantage of the mobile app is that it runs offline. For pure online access to the programme, the General Assembly website and all programme views are mobile-optimized. If you have problems downloading the app from Google Play or Apple App Store, please contact us.

More time for presentations & networking in 2019

To provide a better experience for all attendees at its General Assembly, the EGU is making changes to the meeting schedule. The new schedule features posters, orals and PICOs in parallel, uses time blocks of 105 minutes, and includes a dedicated networking slot. This will allow us to fit more oral presentations in the meeting, give more viewing time for posters and PICOs, and provide a more comfortable meeting experience for all. A dedicated networking slot will give attendees additional time to discuss and interact with colleagues, to view posters and to visit the exhibition. More information and a detailed time schedule are in the EGU news item.

Note on registration

The official and only manner of registration for the EGU General Assembly 2019 is available on this registration webpage.

Note on hotel booking

Please note that the Vienna City Marathon (40,000 participants) will take place in Vienna on Sunday, 7 April, resulting in many hotels being fully booked the night before. Furthermore, another large conference is taking place from 9 to 14 April 2019 in Vienna. Therefore, we strongly recommend booking accommodation as soon as possible.

Mondial Congress & Events is the only official housing agency for the EGU General Assembly 2019.

Take advantage of the SBB promotion for the train from Zurich to Vienna

Vienna is just a ride away. The EGU is pleased to support the initiative of Swiss colleagues to reduce the carbon footprint of your travel to the EGU General Assembly 2019. Why not consider going to Vienna by train?

Take advantage of the special discount to visit the NHM

The Natural History Museum Vienna (NHM) kindly offers all participants a special discount of 50% on the entrance fee by showing their conference name badge when buying a ticket. This discount is valid from 6–14 April 2019; please note that the museum is closed on Tuesdays.
